Installation Instructions

Interfaces:

  • Choose and download the UI you want to use. Do this by clicking on the link under the downloads section of the UI you want. Choose save and place the file in a location that is easy for you to access. Your desktop is a good example.
  • Locate your everquest directory. Usually it is under the c: drive and can be found in either program files or program files/sony. Open up the uifiles directory in the everquest folder. Create a new folder. This folder will be the name of the UI you will use while in the game. You can name it anything you like, but please exclude spaces and other non-letter characters in the name.
  • Open the .zip file you downloaded in the first step by double clicking it. Highlight all of the files in the folder that appears. An easy way to do this is to select one of the files and then press Ctrl-A. Right Click on the highlighted files and choose the copy option. The files should remain highlighted while doing this. If they do not, then you may have clicked in an incorrect spot and will need to restart this step. NOTE: These directions only work with Windows XP. If you run an older version of windows you will need to use a .zip program like Winzip. It may require extra steps to complete the same process.
  • Go to the folder you created in the uifiles directory and paste what you just copied. Do this by right clicking on the folder(or in the white space of the folder if you are in it) and choosing the paste option. All of the files should begin to appear in the new folder.
  • Now download any patches you wish to use for your UI and install them the same way as you just did the previous file. If you are prompted to overwrite any files, please click yes.
  • Open up everquest and log in as the character you wish to use the UI. Type "/loadskin" and press enter. A window should appear. Look for the name of the folder you created and select it. Choose accept and wait. The new UI should load for your character. NOTE: If your UI included a custom target ring, then you will need to type "/indicator off" followed by "/indicator on" in order to see the ring without rebooting EQ.

Target Rings:

  • Coming Soon

Audio Triggers:

  • NOTE: Audio Triggers should be installed while offline. Also note that using a seperate folder with the included .ini file as noted in the directions will not overwrite your normal audio trigger settings.
  • Choose and download the Sound Pack you want to use. Do this by clicking on the link under the downloads section of the Sound Pack you want. Choose save and place the file in a location that is easy for you to access. Your desktop is a good example.
  • Locate your everquest directory. Usually it is under the c: drive and can be found in either program files or program files/sony. Open up the AudioTriggers directory in the everquest folder.
  • Open the .zip file you downloaded in the first step by double clicking it. Right Click on the folder located inside the .zip file and choose the copy option. NOTE: These directions only work with Windows XP. If you run an older version of windows you will need to use a .zip program like Winzip. It may require extra steps to complete the same process.
  • Return to the AudioTriggers folder you have opened. Right click in any white space there and choose the paste option. The folder you copied should appear there.
  • Now return to the .zip file. If there is a .ini file included here and you wish to automatically setup the sounds to the text that they will be used for, then continue with this step. Right click the .ini file and choose the copy option. Return to your everquest directoy. Right click on the userdata folder and choose the paste option. Open the userdata folder. The .ini file should be in there now among many others. Change the 'charname' in the filename to the characters name you wish to use the sounds for. For example, AT_sounds_charname_Nameless.ini might become AT_sounds_Eckish_Nameless.ini.
  • Open up everquest and log in as the character you wish to use the sounds for. Open up your Audio Trigger window(alt-A). In the upper right there is a pull down menu for Trigger set. Choose the folder name you just copied from there. All of the sounds should be available while this option is chosen. If you opted to use a .ini file, the patterns with sounds should already be listed in the window.
